Who is Sculpted Blooms?

I first fell in love with gardens watching my mum design them — her hand‑drawn plans spread across the table, colour pencils scattered everywhere. That early fascination never left. I’ve always loved wandering through other people’s gardens, quietly trying to understand why certain spaces feel so beautiful and alive.

Moving to Gringley nudged that curiosity into something deeper. After studying with the RHS in York, I began experimenting with vegetables and flowers, filling my home with whatever I could grow. Soon I was pushing the boundaries — staircases draped in foliage, fireplaces dressed for the seasons, tables overflowing with colour. Friends started asking for little projects, and from those small beginnings this whole adventure grew.

The space at the end of the garden grew organically — which is a polite way of saying I slowly pushed my husband’s things into one corner and claimed the rest for flowers. Eventually the gym was moved out entirely, and I filled the space with as many blooms as I could fit. My love of meeting people and sharing what I’ve learned grew from there. I’m always dreaming up new workshops, and I can’t wait to welcome you into the studio.

The Workshop

Based in the beautiful village of Gringley on the Hill, Sculpted Blooms is a creative studio offering a welcoming mix of floral workshops, gardening classes, and hands‑on flower arranging experiences. Our sessions range from short 1 hour 30 minute gardening classes focused on practical techniques to longer floral demonstrations covering seasonal floristry, wreath making, table decorations, and summer garlands.

Before each workshop, guests are invited to explore our teaching gardens, where the beds are arranged to showcase focal flowers, fillers, textured stems, perennials, cut‑and‑come‑again varieties, and edible blooms. This living classroom helps you understand how each plant grows and how it can be used in both fresh and dried flower designs.

We welcome individual and group bookings, whether it’s a relaxed gathering of friends, a mother‑and‑daughter experience, or a creative hen party looking for something unique and memorable. Private sessions can be tailored to your group, offering a fun, hands‑on way to learn, unwind, and enjoy time together.

We’re also developing new experiences, including garden lunches and small cooking demonstrations that explore how to use the produce you grow — from herbs and edible flowers to seasonal vegetables.

Whether you join us for a morning, afternoon, or evening class, Sculpted Blooms offers a calm, inspiring space filled with fresh and dried flowers from the garden. It’s a place to unwind, learn new skills, and meet like‑minded people while enjoying beautifully crafted floral and gardening experiences.
